Juicing Journeys: How I Transformed My Body in 40 Days

Three years back, I stumbled upon Heartsmarts, thanks to one of my clients. At that point, I was pondering, “Isn’t there a way to shed those extra pounds without gulping down a ton of supplements?” I’m not a fan of popping pills or downing protein shakes; I prefer keeping it simple with regular food. So, when my client introduced me to Heartsmarts what grabbed my attention was their focus on healing the body through food and teaching proper eating habits. The 40-day fast journey was an eye-opener. It made me realize that I actually have the willpower to stick to disciplined eating habits. Surprisingly, it wasn’t as tough as I imagined. Sure, there were cravings towards the end, but then I had an epiphany about the amount of time and money I had invested in the Nama juicer – close to $500! My juicer is practically a member of the family now

Let me give you a rundown of my juicing routine:

makes 1 Quart 1 Bunch of celery 1 Cucumber 2 Green apples 1 Bunch of parsley 1 Bunch of cilantro 1 Inch of fresh ginger 1 Inch of fresh turmeric 1 Lemon peeled (strain your juice well) 4. How Much Juice Total 4-6 quarts per day (1 to 1.5 Gallons)

I also made used  astringent fruit juices (all citrus, orange, grapefruit, pineapple)

All stuffed into a massive Ziplock bag. I’d buy a week’s worth of veggies and fruits , plan out the juices, and spend some quality time with my juicer. It became a weekly ritual – grocery shopping on weekends, prepping veggies, and juicing like a pro before work. Mason jars became my best buddies. For those 40 days, I lived on juice alone. Well, almost. I made it to 35 good days – not too shabby!

Post-juice fest, I eased into a raw diet. Transitioning back to solid food was a journey in itself,  Consistency is key. I followed different folks for inspiration, watched videos, and learned the art of juicing. And let’s not forget the hair – yes, it’s related! Good nutrition equals good hair. Now, I’m not saying juicing is the magic potion for all hair problems, but it’s a darn good start. I’ll drop some links for those interested in diving into the juicing world. And hey, if you’ve got questions or need some juicing pep talk, slide into my DMs! Cheers to juicing and good hair days! 🥤
